system slowdown after update

Last night 4/19/03 I upgraded my Windows XP to the latest
and greatest with all critical and suggested updates. Now
program, particularly anything to do with the web, have
slowed severely when loading. My download speed also
dropped from 1500 to 500 according to McAfee's speedometer.

How do I correct this problem.

Go to the Control Panel, Add and Remove Programs, and uninstall update
#811493.

I can't uninstall it. When I go to do this it just
says "click here for support options." Which won't even
go through to microsoft. Help.

Ick. It uninstalled cleanly for me and many others. Someone in
microsoft.public.windows update used the following method to remove it:

"i uninstalled the patch by
running "Spunist.exe" in c/windows/$NTUninstallQ811493
$/Spuninst folder. it is a hidden file, so, to run that
uninstall file, you will have to adjust the view to show
hidden files: tools/folder options/view, "show hidden
files". now, all is back to normal"
