XP upgrade

Upgrade to system with new hard drive and new instal of
XP. The system worked great with internet DSL working
great and fast connection. Installed upgrades from
micersoft now works slower and takes 2 min to use program
to connect to the internet. What went wrong?

Dan,

Your question isn't all that clear, but I believe you did a fresh install of
Windows XP and then applied updates. Is that correct? If that is the case
you should uninstall the update "811493" from Add/Remove programs. You
probably don't need it anyway and it is causing a lot of problems.

The best place to post messages relating to MS updates/fixes is the
"microsoft.public.windowsupdate" group.
