When I'm in Windows Explorer XP and I search for a file
or files I get a blank screen. In other words I don't get:

-> Pictures, music, or video
-> Documents(word processing, spreadsheets)
-> Computers or people
etc.

I learned that windows update had a fix 319949 :
Error Message: "A File That Is Required to Run Search
Companion Cannot Be Found"

http:// support.microsoft.com / default.aspx?scid=kb%
3ben-us%3b319949

" Summary: After you connect to a Web site, you may
receive the following error message: A file that is
required to run search companion cannot be found. You may
need to run setup. After you receive this error message,
you cannot use Search Companion to search... "

Although, I don't recall receiving the error message, I
similarily, can't use my Search Companion

After applying the windows update q319949
and restarting my computer, my search companion is still
corrupted. Does any one else have this problem? Is there
anyone that might have a sugestion?
