virtual memory

For the last week I have been receiving a message saying
that my "virtual memory" is to low. Since I'm no computer
wiz I have no idea how to best fix this problem,if
someone could kindly tell me how I would really
appreciate it.

This message usually means that you have too many windows open, or that
there are too many applications open. Close unneeded windows and
applications.
