I was woundering if anyone knows how to speed up my dial-
up connection. I am currently useing a telepath internet
56k winmodem. I have tried using a USR 56k V.92 modem but
the results were worse. my connection ranges anywheres
between 32kb and 44kb. I want to try and get to 48.
When I was on the USR 56k it was ranging between 12kb and
44kb and was never constant. I am also running a winxp
system with 256 MB of ram and a celeron 1.1ghz processor.
Can anyone help me. Is there any protocals that i could
use to increase the speed, also I have all drivers up to
date.

There are so many variables to line speed some of which are the telephone
wiring in your house, condition of the telephone lines outside, weather, how
busy your ISP server is etc. etc. If you have multiple phones in your house
try disconnecting some to see if it makes a difference. Also try a different
outlet (line in another room)..
