Is it listed in the CMOS config?
After you immediatley boot the machine, press F2 to
access your computer's BIOS. Under the IDE drive zero
should be your Hard drive or if your Hard disk is dead its
will say none. Also, try going to support.dell.com and
download the Diag for the 8200. This will run a diagnotic
on your system.
I think is hardware.
