I downloaded a "scan your computer" piece of software
that was supposed to clean up my computer. I downloaded,
i saw it working and it had around 7-10 files it had
identified that would cause pop up ads and other annoying
troubles, then the internet page disappeared and I cant
find it (the page) in history, or (the program) under
search, or on the program list with an uninstall. It was
called Quick Cleaner from Bizrate. When i did a search I
found a couple text type files that were located in
c /documents and settings/default/cookies. i have about a
zillion files in that folder, none of which are quick
cleaner. are those files supposed to be there? if i
cleaned up my cookies thru the control panel shouldnt
they be gone? can i select all and delete or would i have
more troubles then? I have emailed the site, but id like
some advice now if possible. so i delete the two files i
found in search? the first time i searched it had seven
files, then the next time i searched it had two files.
agh! i have windows xp home edition ... any advice?
