Word, Access, Excel etc have never been part of any
windows operating system. You have always had to purchase
them seperately. If Gateway told you Office came with XP
then they are very, very wrong. If you gave them specific
instructions that Word etc must be included then they
have not fulfilled their part of the bargain. I assume
they didn't charge you any extra for the machine? i.e to
cover the cost of installing the software. All you can do
is buy the software you need from a reputable software
outlet or see if you can get a copy of Office XP second
hand.
Hope this helps
