any word on how to determine why svchost sucks up most of
the CPU? is another program the actual cause? how to
troubleshoot? my 2Ghz laptop is reamed with 75%
utilization by svchost !!

Sigh...one of the most repeated questions in this forum...svchost is a
normal part of the Windows XP operating system and you shouldn't worry about
it.
