Two Printers

Does anyone know how to run two printers from one computer? My laserjet 4 is working again, but it is black only. I would like to attach an ink jet for color printing. Any ideas? Some one told me to attach one to a serial port, but that didn't work and I don't which port is which in this computer. :confused:

Your best bet is USB unless the computer is very old, there is a USB port on
the system.

Susan,
You can use a external hand switch to manually change which printer
you are printing to. You can also purchase a second printer port
output to put into your computer. If you have any USB ports you can
add printers to the USB port. USB Port printers are half the price of
the parallel printers.

Hi!

If your colour inkjet only connects by parallel port, you could use a
USB->parallel adaptor. This device uses the USB port to create an extra
parallel port for your printer; and this port will be identified as LPT2.

Another way for these printers would be to scout the computer fairs for a
parallel-port host adaptor PCI card. Once installed, you will have an LPT2
port.
