Boot Disk Failure

[Agnes]

I have an HP 753c computer with 1 gb of memory.
My system is slow and hangs up while downloading. Also, I
have come back to the computer 3 times now to find a
black screen with this message: Disk Boot Failure. Insert
System Disk and Press Enter. Of course, I don`t have a
system disk and I`m not sure what would happen to my
computer if I did insert one. Any help appreciated.

I can be that your Hard disk is going south.

When XP encounters an error it will shutdown and try again to restart to
repair itself.

If your MBR cannot be found upon the boot sequence because of the drive you
will see that error.

I would backup all of your important porn and run some disk utilities to
check the health of the drive before you loose everything.

Also turn off "Automatically restart" off in the start-up and recovery menu.
Now when the system goes down after a failure you will see the BSOD with
some error code. Log them and repost as I am sure someone here will help.

Sounds like you are either having a hard disk failure or some virus.
