"MS Visual C++" error message

Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me why it is that every time I run a
setup (setup.exe) application that calls for installshield
or sometimes whenever I delete a file in Windows Explorer
I always get a "MS Visual C++" error message and I have
to restart my machine? It does not do this when I run any
type of "setup.msi" program.
