error message: HELP!!!

I receive the following error message when I try to enter
the control panel: Windows Explorer has encountered a
problem and most close. What do I do to correct? Is
Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer the same? As you
can see, I am not technical when it comes to computers!!
Any help is appreciated.
