I just found out this new update is causing alot of problems on computers
that never had problems until this update was installed. I started haveing
problems with my cdrw/dvdrw drive right after installing SP2. On checking my
computer device manager showed everything was fine, but wouldn't recognize
some installation cd's or autorun..nothing worked to install this
software...until I uninstalled SP2 from my computer..now everything works
fine like it did before SP2 was installed...Hope this helps all of you
wondering what went wrong with my computer!!!

Sorry, your post is not at all helpful. SP2 is not a new update
as it was released back in August 2004. It is a proven and solid
release with over 150 million successful installations worldwide.
Your system may have been somewhat corrupt to begin with,
or maybe laden with spyware that caused the ill effects.

Please refrain from making such broad statements when the
problem was actually with your own individual PC.

Yep, that can happen, that is why I took it off as well.
It mucked up Cakewalk, my wireless network would not work and my mini
disk software would not work. Also some other software I got to do with
my work also would not work.

You need to solve Pat & Steve's problems to convince them that SP2 is
the right way forward!

This is the problem, to convince people that SP2 is ok, they must see
SP2 working on their computer with no problems.
I feel the dame way, I had problems with SP2, so I am not conviced that
SP is that good.

Now that's a better approach but a little cryptic! Will that solution be
relevant to Pat and Steve's computer if they do not reinstall SP2? If
they wish to try SP2 again is it better to run the Auto Repair Wizard
before or after reinstalling SP2?
