Updates failing to install

Updates 815485, 817287, and Q811493 have downloaded but
will not install. Can anyone help? Thanks.

i would uninstall them(add/remove programs) and download again but don't
download 811493. there is a problem with it. don't install it until you see
further from microsoft or in this newsgroup.

use system restore to go back to before the download.

then, create a new restore point and then right click on your hard
drive....select properties and 'disk clean up' - then click the 'more
options' tab and select 'delete all but the last restore point'.

try downloading again but leave out 811493.

Go to C:/windows/system32 and find file 'catroot2' and rename it. Reboot and
then download and install your updates. A new catroot2 file will be created.
This in effect gets rid of a corrupt catroot file.
