Problem details:
1. Power up CPU & screen
2. Screen message states that due to possible power
outage, inproper shut down...etc Windows was required to
shut down.
3. I'm asked to choose Normal Start, Safe Mode etc.
4. I just leave it and in about 45 seconds, Windows
attempts to start in Normal mode (prior to last shut down)
5. Then I get the XP logo with the bar and green dashes
running across and we have contact
6. Most times, no green dashes under XP logo and then
back to blk/white screen followed by the XP logo with no
dashes and again and again
7. When this happens, I power down and try it again
8 Sometimes I power on and off 4 or 5 times before I can
log in.

Any ideas out there? Anyone with the same problem who
solved it? All updates and Sevice Pack 1 have been
installed, Norton Anti Virus updated daily...

Thanks!

If you installed 811493, uninstall it.
