i have been having problems ever since i downloaded an
update for the windows messenger. i have not been able to
connect for 2+ weeks and i've contacted microsoft and
they have no clue. the message keeps coming up
immediately after i hit the login button. (signing in
to .NET Messenger Service failed because the service
could not be found-please make sure that you are
connected to the internet) i've read these pages and it
seems that others are having the same problems-but nobody
has offered a solution. can anybody out ther offer any
help?

Hi Dave,

I'd suggest you install MSN Messenger, as it provides an error code that would be helpful in
determining exactly what your problem is:

I am having the exact same problem and getting the exact
same message and no help here either. I am looking for
answers also. It says all systems are stable and running,
yet displays that dang message and will not let me sign
on. This is really most frustrating, especially since
they required the upgrade to continue using messenger. A
friend told me that many are having this problem. It
seems to me that microsoft should address this problem
and FIX it so we can all find the answer. Best of luck to
you!
