View Full Version : Outlook Express shuts down when pasting in an email

This weird problem has suddenly developed when using Outlook Express.
When composing a new email, if I try to paste some text into it, Outlook
Express shuts down. I've tried pasting using Control-V, right clicking
and choosing 'Paste', and going to Edit->Paste, but they all cause OE to
shut down.
My setup: running Windows XP Professional SP1, Outlook Express
6.00.2800.1123 with all current updates and patches
Any ideas?
Thanks, Dan.

Hi
If you have mshtml.dll version 6.0.2800.1141 (in the system32 folder), this is
a known issue.
It should go away if you install this one (will give you v6.0.2800.1170 of
mshtml.dll):

I had the same problem after updating to Win2K SP3 and I updated
MSHTML.DLL as you mentioned.
After which I started noticing that Windows does not always manage
to keep right window on top. Could this z-order problem be related
to the new MSHTML.DLL? --Rgds, JohnH
