I unistalled the Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 and my computer
says that it did not completely uninstall. When I down
loaded a Reader 5 installation program it said to delete
the old version but there is no evidence of the old
version on my computer and so don't know what to do to
delete it if it does not even show up in the add remove
programs section or even the search function. I would
like to be able to use the Reader for some programs but
do not know how to get it installed.

The first thing to try when a program doesn't completely uninstall is to
re-install it and then uninstall it again.

You always need to practice good install/uninstall procedures: shut down all
open applications, turn off anti-virus and always reboot after installing or
uninstalling, even if you are not explicitly instructed to do so.
