ok, i hope someone can help. My computer kept freezing up so i tried doing a
system restore, it took it almost 1 hour to do it and when the compter
restarted, i got the windows xp screen then it went black. I could still
move the mouse arrow but, it would do nothing else. I had the same problem
after the sp1 was installed a few years ago and i had to reinstall windows.
Dell gave me the disks to do this, so knowing what to do, I attempted to
reinstall windows again but, it won't when it starts to read the windows cd,
it says press any key to continue and then after that i get this
error:INFfile txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing Status 1024. and that is
as far as it will go. Please help

Tonia, you could try cleaning the CD. Wash with soap and warm water and
dry. Wipe from the center outward. Not
in a circle. If that doesnt work then you could try the six floppy boot
disks.
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm Scroll to WinXP 6
Disk Setup Set.
