Epson 740 Printer won't install

My Epson Stylus 740's USB cable came unplugged - the printer had been working
fine until then. Since plugging it back in the printer will not install. It
is detected and the driver file starts to copy then I get an error message
state there was an error during instalation because of incorrect parameters.
I've tried installing two different 740s with the same result. Any
suggestions?

Uninstall and reinstall.

That didn't work and I ried installind an new out of the box Lexmark 510 with
the same error message about incorrect parameters.
