Hi All, Recently I did a "system restore" because of a
display problem I had created a week ago and couldn't
resolve any other way. The restore (which took me back
about 7 days )did resolve that display problem but since
then Windows Update has behaved oddly. When I do a manual
windows update now I'm unable to use the "personalize
windows udate" function. Also, when I "scan for updates",
the "critical updates" and "driver updates" get a typical
response like (0) but the "Windows" stays a faint grey
with no response. I get an error code on my "Welcome to
Updates" link ( 0x800A138F ) and I have tried all the
suggestions for this error suggested in the troubleshooter
link on the update site. No luck. I suspect that something
got screwed up when I performed the restore. Thanks in
advance for any help. Peter VH
