I hve been trying to figure out away to prevent users from being able to
install software on the computers that they are using. There are multiple
users for each pc. We are running XP Pro. I have been trying in the Group
Policy but have had no luck. any suggestions???

If the users are not local administrators, you should be able to
implement the policy you want. Otherwise, you may want to post this in
the Group Policy newsgroup for expert help:

microsoft.public.windows.group_policy

Mark, I must have misunderstood, what happens if you make them "Users" and
not "Administrators"? Are they able to do the rest of their functions?
Setting them up as users, to the best of my meager knowledge, stops them
installing new program.
