I apologize if this is not the correct area for this
topic. I have been having a problem with anything that
is suppose to be animated. For example, the yahoo faces
aren't animated anymore, email stationary that is
animated isn't animated anymore. I have asked so many
people, including the computer chat rooms on yahoo but no
one has been able to answer. Other than wiping my hard
drive clean and starting over, is there anyone who might
know why this happened? I have a compaq presario with
windows xp. I'm a beginner so I''m not familiar with the
technical aspects of computer problems. If this is not
the correct forum, could you let me know where I should
have posted this? Thank you so much :-) Kind Regards,
Lisa

Lisa, I could be way off base here, but this is something simple to try. Go
to OE and click on Tools, then Options. That should bring up a window with
a tab that says Security. See if the choice "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened ..." is checked. It could be that the animated smiley faces
and such are treated as attachments when they are read.

Note: Unchecking this box will increase your exposure to email viruses,
because you may automatically open an attachment that has a virus in it. If
you have a good, up-to-date antivirus program in operation that includes
scanning email, then the risk is pretty small, so then you can probably get
away with this.

Report back and tell us what you found out. Hope this works.

What is the file extension of some animated objects that fail?
