The Windows XP Open Dialog (for example: WORD-> Save As
is extremely slow. If I click the drive list drop down
list, I have to wait about 5 to 10 minutes. Before the
list appears.
I have now observed this on several Windows XP machines
(all new Dells > 2.8 GHz) and find this problem absolutely
not acceptable -- the Open and Save dialog is a
fundamental function to almost every software Windows.
I noticed that this isn't a problem on any of the Windows
3x, 95, 98, ME, NT3x, NT4x, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003
Server.
I've tried all the Windows XP updates.
I'm sure Microsoft has fixed this problem by now in
Windows XP. Does anyone know the solution? I've been
searching but haven't found it yet.
