I, too, had similar problems. First, do not download
811493 until Microsoft issues a patch. As for the update
installs, Microsoft Help gave me the following advice: 1)
make sure encryption is enabled (it probably is); 2)Go to
Windows, go to System 32 and find the CatRoot2 file,
rename to CR2Old, then re-boot. (The CatRoot2 file was
corrupt and will be restored with the re-boot.) This
advice solved my Update install problems twice.
