I have XP Pro, and after tweaking and such, have encountered some changes that I
don't know how to correct.

When I access the control panel via my start menu, instead of a window opening,
it opens in a column format.

Also via start panel or via help button on top taskbar, the help and support
does not function. Yes, I have my internet connection on.

Both of these worked well before my tweaking. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks....

Right click START - Properties - Start Menu tab - Customise button -
Advanced tab. Make sure that in Start Menu items - Control panel "Display
as a link" is selected and Help and Support is ticked.

Next time write down items that you tweak. That will be much easier to
re-do tweaks that you don't like.

All the best

Open control panel then click 'view' and set how you would like it
displayed. The help and support can get deactivated by running certain
registry cleaners. If you did not run any then in control
panel--administrative tools-- services--make sure it wasn't turned off.
