explorer.exe 100% processor usage non-stop

My explorer.exe in the task manager after about 30
minutes seems to continually
be taxing my processor at 98/99/100% eventually bringing
general
machine performance to a halt....does any one know why
this is happening or possibly offer solutions?

I have already tried using help on article q330512
