Need Help now please!!!XP SP2 uninstall and system restore

I installed xp2 on my dads laptop yesterday, after this I was unable to
reboot goes to the black screen and and say it encountered a problem... it
will restart automatically in _ seconds and also gives me the options of
restarting at a previous setting or safe mode. Well it won't restart to a
previouse setting I went into safe mode to System Restore it gives me the
message "system restore is unable to protect your computer. Please restart
and try again" of course I did this same results. I tried uninstalling SP2 in
safe mode it just sits there.
Please help!!! I am desperate.

Hi,

Instead of Safe mode, use "safe mode with command prompt" to minimize
interference. To uninstall SP2, run:

%windir%\$ntservicepackuninstall$\spuninst\spunins t.exe

To run system restore, use:

%windir%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
