Hi,
We have 20 newly setup desktops with Windows XP SP2 installed and all of
them are having this strange problem.
When a user right click any folder in Windows Explorer or right click on the
Start button and select search, it causes an explorer.exe error with the
infamous MS send/don't send dialog box. Clicking on either button will
cause the explorer.exe process to end.
Hope that someone can advise me what to do.
Thanks a lot,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Do you have an older version of DivX product installed?
These links should help:
http://www.winxptutor.com/sp2/divxcrash.htm
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm
(Proceed to Method 2 - ShellExView)

Hi Ramesh,
There is no DivX product installed. However PowerDVD was installed, will
that cause problem?
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
There are no known problems reported with PowerDVD and XP SP2. To track the
error message / module, you may inspect the Event Log (eventvwr.msc). Also,
if the error occurs when right-clicking an object (file/ folder/ drive etc),
and if it's fully reproducable, you may proceed with ShellExView tool and
identify the extension that's causing the problem.
