Change of ID

I changed my ISP from Earthlink My name as it shows on the contact list
still shows me as @Earthlink. I want to change my user name but when I do
the box that states "Type your name as other users to see it" has the
Earthlink address but the words are faint and I cannot highlight it or
delete it or change my name.

Considering the above condition, does anybody know how it can be changed to
my correct nickname?

the only thing i can think of is that you have to verify ur email address because i had this problem

You will need to verify your e-mail address. To do so, simply click on the verification link
in the verification e-mail that Passport Services sent you when you signed up.
