Sometimes when I delete a printer to reinstall (when it's giving me problems
like errors printing) WXP takes 20 minutes or more to delete a printer
connected to a local workstations (usually shared). Sometimes it happens on
the Server when I go to delete a networked printer. We're using mostly HP
Laserjet 2300 & 2200s. Sometimes I have to set it to delete & come back the
next day. Disconnecting power supply sometimes helps but not always.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THIS MIGHT HAPPEN?
The problem was much worse with Server 2000, but our servers were slowly
dying then and our new machines & W2k3 software are running fine now (other
than this).
I am working on a W2k3 server network with solely XPSP2 machines. I log on
as the network administrator.
