This is a Gateway700X, GW FPD1810, 64MB NVIDIA Geforce2
MX400 AGP w/ DVI and TV out. On DVD movies and games,
some dark or black areas of the screen come through as a
weird glowing red/maroon color. Can correct it only in
certain places (ie that aol background download with the
spooky forest) by going through Appearance/
Display/Settings tab/advanced, then to Nvidia Twinview,
device setting, color correction: that opens to a
brightness slider that i can tweak to the right and fix
the problem. But it doesn't help for DVD's etc and doesn't
stay fixed elsewhere either.
