folder names

I have in my hard drive folders with strange names, such
as: ca5ed4f12757b8e5731a98e6dd428cda. I assume that
these folders were created as part of some instalation
process. How can I know if I can delete these folders?

These are created if you installed an update from a file you
downloaded from the Windows Download Center rather than use the
WindowsUpdate. I had just noticed it in the last few weeks so it
has not been going on all the time. Move the folder to the Recycle
Bin see if there is protest. After a week without problems it
should be safe to delete the files.
