Windows Update

When trying to use Windows Update the system scans the
computer very quickly and says there is no update
available and the Windows section is greyed out as in it
has not been looked at. Then if i try to go back to the
homepage to retry this i get the error message of
(0x800A138F). I have used the online support help and
tried the two resolution's that were on there that
applied to me, these have not helped. I have tried
installing a new language to no avail and have re-
synchronised my time with the windows.time server still
nothing! Please help!

I had the same problem as you a while back and tried the same resolutions
(solutions?) which didn't help either. Out of frustration (stubbornness?) I
kept going back to the "Welcome" window and reclicking on "scan for
updates"; after the fourth try in a row it finally worked. It's worth a try.
