Well a follow-up....
After uninstalling the 811493 patch...my machine
performance has been somewhat restored. I have noticed
autocad performance has increased and responsiveness has
increased...so overall this might be a big plus. I am
still not sure if this is trult the answer. It seems my
explorer.exe in the task manager is constantly cycling
and increasing page faults from morning to afternoon.
Microsoft mentions the problem here

performance slow down.
