incorrect disk space

[hasselhoff]

hi, my disk seems to give me less space than the drive
actually has capacity for. e.g i have a 40 gb hdd but in
xp i only get 38 or so maybe less.
another query is a silly one, but i could not find the
answer anywhere else; can anyone tell me of a software
for graphics and images, that wouyld allow u to make a
large image that when u look closely is made up of
smaller images? somewhat like a mosaic?

usually this kind of mosaic is referred as 'photomosaic'

there are some programs that can do that sort of things.
