Hi, I am running a Compaq Presaio 6000 with Windows XP
Professional. I also have 512MB of RAM. My problem is
the computer continually locks up and I have to do a hard
shut down and restart to get going again. I have talked
to Compaq and they haven't resolves this issue. I do seem
to be using a lot of Physical memory. I have 490,000K of
memory available, and after visiting Black Viper and
reconfiguring WXP I ahve 255,000K available. I did a
diagnostic restart and only had 346,000K of memory
available and a clean boot left me with 291,000. When the
Memory available drops to about 230,000K the computer
locks. Can anyone PLEASE tell me why this thing is using
so much memory? I thought XP wasn't suppose to need it.
Thank you.
