Hi James,
I've recently purchased a new computer system with a 512
MB as well. The computer keeps locking up on me too.
It's very frustrating to try to complete a task when the
computer is not responding accordingly. I am not
personally a computer expert, but I'll tell you, I had a
Gateway before, and it never gave any problems until the
end. (I had overloaded the system.) You've mentioned
something about XP running smoother and not taking so much
memory, well, what is going on with this new software
system? I am highly frustrated and not being able to get
an answers to my problem. Sorry I cannot help you much.
