Is a reccomended windows xp update also reccomended for
windows xp professional? Seems like some updates
explicitly name windows xp professional but others are
generic. Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Craig;
All the updates apply to both systems.
I think the writers sometimes put Pro in and sometimes not but I am
not sure.
Carefully read the description and determine if you need or want the
patch.
If it fits you situation, install the patch.
This applies to Recommended Updates.
Critical Updates are generally a good idea to install regardless of
your situation.

There may be a few updates that are only applicable to XP Professional.
If so, these would be for those components of XP that are only found in
Pro and are not included with XP Home.

Most updates should apply to both Home and Pro and therefore would be
expected to have the generic "Windows XP" in the name with no version
specified.
