OK Guys & Girls

Major problems I did a registry change to get IE to re load, not sure if i
have stuffed up! My CD/DVD is no longer is seen by Win XP i cannot see it in
My Computer? I have tried to unistall it several times from device manger
and install the drivers again but you guessed it; it does not see the
Cd/DVD.

I have run Repair (Not Recovery Console) on WIn XP which it went through OK.
But it still des not see the the CD/DVD i notice Windows keeps trying to
load 2 CD/DVD systems in Device Manager! So the Repair was done through the
Cd /DVD so it is working but not seen by the Operating Sysytem?

It attempts to loads the Generic DVD -ROMSCSI Cd Rom Device
It then attempts to load my proper TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B

Whats the problem here is it behond repair?

Hi,

See if this helps:

Under section 8 - Problems - there is a link to a patch that often resolves
this problem

Try going to Device Manager and enable "Show Hidden Devices". Then
uninstall/remove all the cd drives. Reboot and Windows should find the
right ones.

Hi

I have done the following

1. Reinstalled WIn XP 2

2. Installed XP totally in repair not through the console

3. I have run MS Spyware, Spybot, Adaware, Hijack

4. Run Registry Mechanic

I still have 2 faults which I need to fix if possible.

When my system boots up it is loading 2 DVD/CD Drivers mine and a generic
one. I have tried uninstalling in safe mode and ordinary mode both the
DVD/CD & removed the IDE drivers but still loading two sets of drivers.

Also IE Explore 6 every now and then freezes when i click on a link to
another page. The link works but the previous page freezes and i get a error
as mentioned above

szAppName : iexplore.exe szAppVer : 6.0.2900.2180 szModName :
hungapp

szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

I have no doubt this is a registry fault but i am no expert on how to remedy
these errors and would like some help please. I know I can reinstall but I
would prefer not to do that as I have my machine ok besides these two
errors.

Cheers Dale
