View Full Version : Why does Num Lock turn on when logging on to WinXP Pro?

After putting a password on my user account, I wanted to reboot my system.
But before the system cycled, my laptop's Num Lock turned on. I ended up
turning off Num Lock during the system start-up, but when Win XP Pro loaded,
the Num Lock came back on.

Why exactly is the system doing this, and how do I turn this off?

nm, just figured it out. Turns out the
HKEY_USERS\.Default\ControlPanel\Keyboard setting InitialKeyboardIndicators
was set to 2 rather than 0. My bad.
