I am trying to find out if it is possible, in XP Home &
XP Pro, to upgrade my ATX P4 Motherboard with an Intel
845-(ICH2) Chipset to a newer MO-BO with an Intel 845E
(ICH4) Chipset or Intel 875P (ICH5) Chipset, and have
Windows not become un-stable? (not have to re-install)
I know that in the past when going from Intel to Via
Chipsets, Windows 98SE became unstable and I had to re-
load my OS. Is XP the same?
I have not yet attempted this in either version of XP yet.
Is it possible to upgrade to a newer, faster FSB Mo-Bo
and not have to re-install Windows and loose all of my
Data/Programs?
I would like to upgrade from 400 FSB speed to 533 or even
800!
Thanx for the help.
