Hi,
What is svchost.exe and why do I have 5 (five) instances of that "program"
or whatever it is in my process list. And that was 5 out of 27 running
processes.
Thanks in advance

Run the command TASKLIST /SVC from a Command Prompt.=20
This will show you what "real" services all those different instances=20
of SVCHOST are supporting, and you can then compare the process=20
IDs from that list with the ones in Task Manager to see exactly what =
they
are.
As for deleting or modifying SVCHOST.EXE, do not even THINK=20
about doing this--you will, at the very least, completely destroy your=20
system's network connectivity, and will more likely render your computer =
unbootable.
I have five (5) instances of SVHOST.EXE running and that's perfectly =
normal.

Hi Nicolas,
Thanks for the quick reply. OK... so now I know what they are and I had no
intensions of deleting them. I was just curious.
