I'm trying to use a cd-rom, but it doesn't open when I put
it into the drive. I've used this cd rom before with a
different pc...no probs. It tells me on the packaging
that it has an autoplay facility, but I should make sure
that this is enabled on my pc. I have no idea how to do
this...can anyone help? Many thanks!

Check the settings in TWEAKUI.EXE > My Computer > AutoPlay > Types.
TweakUI is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp.

Click My Computer, right click the cd drive, click properties and
select autoplay. Choose an action or restore defaults.

Astrid,
I had the same problem and followed all the links from tweakxp to editing
the registry and couldnt get autoplay to work.
The problem was solved when I enabled autoplay within clone cd.
Sucks, but is true.
