When I go to shut my machine down, this box comes up
Windows File Protection. "Files that are required for
Windows to run properly have been replaced by
unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability,
Windows must restore the original versions of these files.
Insert you Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1 CD now."
I have checked my system and it shows that the Service
Pack 1 is installed. But when I click on this box to
close it, I get another box which is titled Windows File
Protection. "You chose not to restore the original
versions of the files. This may affect Windows
stability. Are you sure you want to keep these
unrecognized versions?"
I don't understand why I keep getting these messages and
it is like a cache 22. You close one and the other
opends; you close that one and the previous one opens.
The only way I can get rid of them is to shut the
computer down.
What are the files they are talking about? Two things I
have done to my computer is install Windows XP Home
Edition and transferred data from one hard drive to a
larger hard drive.
Can someone help me with this problem?
