I have Windows XP and IE 6. I have downloaded and installed Java Runtime 4,
version 1.4.1_01. I am having a problem with a number of pages that are not
opening.
For example, today I was at a website and they had a button to click on to
get to a new page. As I hover my mouse over the button, it displays in the
lower left corner the javascript that they button will launch. But when I
click it, nothing happens. I get a yellow warning sign.
When I close IE and then open Opera and go to the page, Opera is able to
open the javascript button and everything is fine.
But why is it not working with IE?

This is a total waste of bandwidth! I repeat! This is a total waste of
bandwidth! This group is NOT about java. I repeat! This group is NOT about
java. If it were, it would have java in the name of the group, but it
doesn't so it isn't. Please take your off-topic posts elsewhere.

Maybe Amethyst should read all of his recent posts if he is interested in
targeting people who are wasting bandwidth space.

Steve,
If the problem appears to be related to the Jave Runtime when running in
IE - It may be worth having a search on the web site where you got the
runtime from (possibly Sun Microsystems) to see if this si know issue with
their VM when running in IE 6.
As regards the reply you received purporting to be from Amethyst - is was
not actually from her. Someone is posing as her and making nuisance posts.
