You CAN NOT do that. I *REPEAT* You CAN NOT DO THAT. It is highly illegal.
You have been warned.

What a load of crap! How do you think corporate IT departments update
300 systems to SP1?

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/sp1lang.asp

is the link to the full SP1 download(be forewarned it is 130MB), which
can then be used to update any version of XP to SP1 without any
additional download.

It is not I *REPEAT* NOT highly illegal.

Good Luck...

Absolutely nothing. The first person who replied is full of s**t....

To save a service pack, you have to go to the MS website and do the actual
distributed download of the pack, rather than doing the web enabled
download. It's a hundred-and-something megabytes, but then you can save it
and burn it to a CD.

He's not exactly going to any effort to cover his tracks, now is he?

Thanks for the support, Harry, it's appreciated.

Gail,

Of course you may save the SP to disc. In order to do this however, you
would need to download the 134MB network installation file from the MS
website (I forget the exact URL but it will be easily found if you use their
search facility). The express version (available via Windows Update)
requires you to be online as it performs a streaming installation.

Hiya

Ignore it - of course it isn't. You have just been flamed by Kadaitcha Man,
the self-styled Windows XP 'anarchist'. Just ignore it and hope it goes away
(some hope I know!) Eventually he might grow tired of his little 'games' and
find a more worthwhile persuit - like seeking readmittance to the nuthouse
from which he, so obviously, escaped.

I'll admit pursuit is wrong.

But the two adverbs "so obviously" form a valid phrase used to
emphasize "escaped".

You ****stick. Pursuit is correct. Persuit is incorrect.

>>> which he, so obviously, escaped.

> But the two adverbs "so obviously"

One of them is an idiom, you idiot.

> form a valid phrase used to
> emphasize "escaped".

The sentence "[he is] seeking readmittance to the nuthouse from which he, so
obviously, escaped" has no different meaning whatsoever to "[he is] seeking
readmittance to the nuthouse from which he so obviously escaped", therefore
both commas are wholly superfluous.

Additionally, inserting a deliberate pause to test to the validity of the
commas causes the sentence to sound stupid viz;

"[he is] seeking readmittance to the nuthouse from which he" ... PAUSE ...

"so obviously" ... PAUSE ....

"escaped."

You have been told, now **** right off and die, you illiterate ****wit.
