I've found all kinds of threads for older versions of Windows, or tips
if the registry is corrupt and Windows won't boot - but nothing
specifically about Windows XP SP2 and problems with quick launch
icons. I've got two machines with this problem now and hoping there is
a fix.
First boot/logon: The right number of quick launch icons are
displayed, but they are all incorrect, and I assume default system
icons (all different, but boring). This includes the standard "Show
Desktop" icon, IE, and all the Office 2003 icons. There is no longer a
'refresh' option like on older versions, so that doesn't help. If you
logout/logon, the icons get recreated correctly - but that's not very
handy.
If there is a Q article about this, or someone who has solved it,
please let me know.
Thanks a lot
