Hello group:
I posted this in the hardware section and got no response
so I think this is a more apropriate place. After a repair
installation of Win XP my graphics card
disappeared from the device manager and the graphics are
no longer smooth. When a window is moved it is jerky.
Reinstalling the drivers doesn't work. Asking Windows XP
to search for new hardware doesn't work. Running the
graphics card installation CD doesn't work. Device
manager simply no longer "sees" the video card. The card
is made by MSI,
and is an Nvidia Ti4200. Reseated the graphics card and
that didn't change anything either.
Everything worked fine until the XP repair operation. The
optical mouse also quit but works again now after
switching from the USB port to the PS2 port with an
adaptor.
Thanks for any help, Gene
